As you know, Spacehog is working hard on new tracks this week. I took alot of cute pics (boys, thanks again for always being so sweet). Spacehog’s official myspace should be up soon. I’m sure that once it is, they’ll be able to add new songs and fill you in on the happenings. I got a couple emails about the earthquake and everyone is perfectly fine, thanks for asking. If you are a venue, studio, label, etc interested in the band, send word to the Arckid myspace for now. Don’t forget, they are playing Troubador on Friday night.
11:15pm, Monday July 29th, 2008 at Los Angeles’ Viper Room. Royston, Antony, Jonny and Richard enter the Viper Room’s front door to the screams of an almost-capacity Viper Room crowd. Instruments in hand, they ran onto stage, behind the drawn curtain. A bearded Rich Steel emerged briefly and approached me after I shouted his name. We had a brief hi-volume club conversation over the house music. (You know the type… “How have you been?” “I’ve been outside” “What’s outside?” “Yeah, wild!” “What???” “Badgers?… What about them?” “Cool!”) I attempted to tell him how excited I was about seeing them live, and that it satisfied a long-term dream of mine. I think he said that they weren’t ready, that they’d hardly rehearsed and he hoped that the show lived up to my dreams. It’s entirely possible he was talking about badgers, but I think I heard him correctly.
Jonny Cragg just announced a second Spacehog gig at the Troubadour in West Hollywood at 8:30pm, Friday, August 1st. Show information and tickets can be found here.
Also, tickets are still available for Monday’s Viper Room reunion gig. Show information and tickets can be found here.
It would appear that Royston Langdon was one of Camp Freddy’s featured guests on their July 19th appearance at The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas. More details at Billy Morrison’s blog.
I am so proud of these boys, so hopefully they won’t mind the leak. Jonny and Legs renamed the DJ Arckid wing, now going by We.R.D.2, and have been quite busy. They have finished a remix for the B-52’s single “Juliet of the Spirits”, which is next in line after the “Funplex” EP. B-52’s, in case you haven’t heard, released their new record “Funplex” in March (more info at: http://www.astralwerks.com/b-52s). If you would like to keep up to date on Chris, Jonny, Roy, or Ant and what events they are attending/djing/etc around NY, you can visit their Fame Game profiles. Here are the links for Jonny and Chris.
