The main thing I remember about this is that Roy really wanted me to recreate this percussion sound effect from the demo. I basically just used a china cymbal and a few tom hits. And the demo also had this faux-rhumba beat during the chorus. I had thought I would do the "rhumba" stuff as an overdub, and just track an "I saw her standing there"-type beat, but they were not into that :) Anyway, I think I came up with a good workaround; it rocks pretty good.
