Spacehog @ The 2012 Bamboozle Festival!
Bamboozle used as a verb…..
1.to deceive or get the better of (someone) by trickery, flattery, or the like; humbug; hoodwink (often followed by into ): They bamboozled us into joining the club. Synonyms: gyp, dupe, trick, cheat, swindle, defraud, flimflam, hoax, gull, rook; delude, mislead, fool.
2. to perplex; mystify; confound. Synonyms: befog, bewilder, puzzle, baffle, dumbfound.
Bamboozle as in New Jersey’s Bamboozle Festival however apparently means a magical three day oceanfront festival, with a main stage on the beach and eight other stages covering the best in mainstream pop, rock, metal, comedy and more.
And this all means what to you, Spacehog fans? It means yet another chance to see Spacehog!
Just announced today on Spacehog’s Official Facebook page, Spacehog plays the Bamboozle Festival, Sunday, May 20th, 4:00 on the Paramount Stage.
One day passes, 3 day passes, VIP passes, Undying Love, and Shuttle Passes all can be bought by clicking here.
Okay, I was totally bamboozling you about the undying love (everyone knows you can’t buy love, silly) but the rest is all true.
Have fun at the beach and wear your sunscreen! ~ Charlotte x

Introducing Spacehog’s Timo Ellis……
This Thursday, Spacehog fans fortunate enough to be at New York’s Rockwood Music Hall, will not only be amongst the first to hear live performances of tunes from the upcoming new album, but they will also be there for the debut of Spacehog’s new guitarist Timo Ellis. “Wait, what???,” you might be saying. That’s okay. Take a minute, I’ll wait.
Yessssss, you did read that correctly. There is a new album, As It Is On Earth, due out this May, and joining Royston, Jonny, and Rich, is The Netherlands’ Timo Ellis, who has stepped in on guitar and vocals for Antony, as Antony pursues fame and fortune in film on the west coast.
For those who may be wondering about this fresh face in the band, Timo was kind enough to allow me an interview.
Charlotte: Jonny Cragg once mentioned jamming with you and Sean Lennon back in the summer of 1994. Was this when you first met? What was your impression of the Spacehog guys at that time?
Timo: ..I just remember initially thinking that they were sweet and totally hilarious (and then not too much later that they were making a really great record!!)
C: On your website you list yourself as performer, producer, tv/film composer, arranger, drummer, guitarist, bassist, singer, songwriter, ukulele-r, programmer, visual artist, and graphic designer from New York City, and on your Facebook band page under genre you list that you do it all. Is it fair to ask if there is an instrument, a role in the music world, and/or a specific type of genre that you like best or is that too much like asking a parent which kid they like best?
T: I’m a drummer first but I’ve been playing guitar and bass for almost as long..in recent years I’ve done a lot more composing/ recording/ producing stuff as distinct from really becoming more virtuosic on any one instrument…+ “genre-wise” on a professional level it would probably help me if I really aesthetically refined/ simplified my “brand”, so to speak, but well, I don’t really feel like doing that, frankly!
Last minute notice ….. Timo Ellis @ Arlene’s Grocery Tonight!
For those in the NYC area, do you know where Arlene’s Grocery is? Of course, you do (psst…. it’s 95 Stanton Street). And that is exactly where you should be tonight at 8:00. Why? Because it’s free, you should get out more often, and because Timo Ellis, the newest member of Spacehog will be performing there!!!
In his own words (lifted shamelessly from the Facebook event page) it will be..
“27 minutes of glory, featuring live furniture, improvised blanket, and music spanning my (vast) oeuvre (including some straight-up punk rock, some ballads, a caustic disco song, + a bit of The Jacksons and Helen Reddy thrown in fer good measure/ to great effect..!) With the incredible Alexicalibur following at 9pm; a more entertaining and by turns confrontational, clever and ruminative/ earnest show you will not see ANY other time soon!! And it’s fukin’ f-reeeeeeeeeee!!!”
Have a great time tonight New Yorkers!!
~ Yours stuck with bad t.v. on the West Coast and trying very hard not to sulk, Charlotte x
