For those in the NYC area, do you know where Arlene’s Grocery is? Of course, you do (psst…. it’s 95 Stanton Street). And that is exactly where you should be tonight at 8:00. Why? Because it’s free, you should get out more often, and because Timo Ellis, the newest member of Spacehog will be performing there!!!

In his own words (lifted shamelessly from the Facebook event page) it will be..

“27 minutes of glory, featuring live furniture, improvised blanket, and music spanning my (vast) oeuvre (including some straight-up punk rock, some ballads, a caustic disco song, + a bit of The Jacksons and Helen Reddy thrown in fer good measure/ to great effect..!) With the incredible Alexicalibur following at 9pm; a more entertaining and by turns confrontational, clever and ruminative/ earnest show you will not see ANY other time soon!! And it’s fukin’ f-reeeeeeeeeee!!!”

Here is a link to the MTV website, in which the MTV Newsroom is enjoying Spacehog for no particular reason but to reflect upon their music. No complaints here.

Whether your own reasons are particular or not, click on over and not only will you find a version of the In The Meantime video that differs a bit from the one that we’ve been watching on Youtube, but also you can find the Cruel to Be Kind and Mungo City videos! Yes!! For realz!! Go!!!

And while you’re watching, repeat these optimistic words “new album in the works” to yourself. Fingers crossed that 2011 will bring us the even better words “from the recently released album.” A girl can dream, yes?
