Royston Langdon plays Las Vegas on July 5th
“Slash will be performing the first of three summer concerts at Red Rock entitled LAST MAN STANDING; with each show featuring some of the most talented and legendary musicians in rock and hip hop history. Joining Slash on stage for the launch will be Alice in Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell, drummer Jason Bonham who performs with Led Zeppelin in place of his legendary father as well as appearances by Royston Langdon, formerly of Spacehog; and other surprise guest artists.”

AGH!! Man, I wish I still lived in California. Vegas was just a short drive…I’d love to be there to support Roy!!
Yeah… This is an unfortunate week to be on-call. Grr.
Some additional information about this gig posted at ‘The Metal Sludge Gossip Board’:
“A few minutes later another announcement that they are gonna bring out good friend Royston Langdon singer for Spacehog (& Liv Tyler’s husband). They rip into covers like GNR’s “Night train,” Spacehog’s “In The Meantime” and others.
A new announcement is made and Slash say’s that it is his honor to bring out another guest to the stage, his good friend Mr. Jerry Cantrell of Alice in Chains. He comes out on stage, plugs in and we are off. More songs and an excellent cover of AIC’s “Rooster” with Royston singing. The crowd is going bananas. Royston leaves the stage and Jerry, Slash and Johnny come out and do an acoustic set and cover Pink Floyd and a few others that I cannot remember? Jerry was singing and sounded great!”
“Perry say’s it would not be complete w/o a Led Zeppelin song and we have a Bonham here so let’s do one. They rip into “Whole lotta love!” We got Slash, Jason Bonham, Royston Langdon, Johnny Griparic, Jerry Cantrell and Perry Ferrell all on stage and people are going bananas. They drop a cover of “Knocking on Heaven Door” and a few others as well.”

Wow – great footage!
Roy is in top form! I loved all of the videos, but Suffragette City was over the top! It was nice to see him play live again – I haven’t seen him play live in a long time. Wish I could have been there!
Yeah, Roy completely nailed Suffragette City. Did Spacehog ever cover this one live? I know they spent a fair amount of time and energy trying to distance themselves from Bowie, but damn…
Hmmm…I know this sounds awful, but I don’t remember them actually playing that live! It SEEMS as though they did, however. But, that was…12 – 13 years ago!! Yikes! Where did all the time go???
Thanks for the links! I sure wish I could have been in Vegas but at least we got to see parts of the show! I agree that Suffragette City was the best of the three but they were all great to watch.
